A Culture of Reading

You can’t get better at reading by not reading. Poor english comprehension is no excuse to refrain from reading, because it only gets better the more you read.

I’m just trying to contribute towards a culture of reading, because insight and wisdom is hidden in unread books.

It’s my duty to teach and educate where I can, this is just one of the many ways of doing it.

Not so Typical Modern Woman

If what you want, is a woman who’ll be there everyday when you come back from work to cook, clean, do laundry, bake and run after the kids; then I’m not that woman…

If you expect a domesticated woman who gives up everything for others and never considers herself, her ambitions and her dreams; then I’m not that woman…

I won’t always be there to prepare supper every night for you and the kids, because my “greater calling” and purpose needs to be fulfilled before I run out of time.

There’s education to pursue, a career to build up, a choir to be started, books to be written, articles to be published, lectures to prepare for and flights to catch…

You just have to understand, I’m not that kind of woman.

However with all that life demands of me, I promise to maximise my time with you.

Instill principles in the kids that they’ll keep in their hearts, wake up early to make breakfast, prepare lunch, bath the kids and take them to school.

I promise to support your vision for our family, to take time off from everything as often as necessary,

I promise not to make you feel like you’re the only one responsible for the well-being of the family, as I’ll be there as your partner every step of the way.

I promise to submit to you and respect the fact that you have been placed as the head of the household .

I promise that even if I won’t be there to clean and do laundry, I’ll definitely make sure that all of that is taken care of.

I’ll bake on odd weekends (because I can) and prepare the meals everytime I’m there.

That’s not your portion (not unless you want to share the responsibility)

You don’t have to worry about having clean clothes to wear and an ironed shirt for work, I got that!

I just need you to understand that I’m not typical, I’m different, I’ll get things done, just not in the way that you had always imagined.
